COMMUNICATIONS FROM HIS HONOR, THE MAYOR

2.         A communication submitting an Order to accept a grant in the amount of $997 from Northeast Utilities.  This grant will allow the City to print a ‘back yard best management practices’ brochure that was developed by Nora McCloskey, a Miss Hall’s School student intern.  The brochure will be distributed to residents who live in the vicinity of the West Branch of the Housatonic River.

3.         A communication submitting an Order for an appropriation from the Water Enterprise Fund/Certified Retained Earnings (Fund 60) in the amount of $100,000 to an account in the Department of Public Utilities/Water Division.

4.         A communication submitting an Order for an appropriation from the Water Enterprise Fund/Certified Retained Earnings (Fund 61) in the amount of $100,000 to an account in the Department of Public Utilities/Water Division.

5.         A communication submitting an Order for an appropriation from the Water Enterprise Fund/Certified Retained Earnings (Fund 60) in the amount of $150,000 to an account in the Department of Public Utilities/Water Division

6.         A communication submitting an Order for an appropriation from the Water Enterprise Fund/Certified Retained Earnings (Fund 61) in the amount of $150,000 to an account in the Department of Public Utilities/Water Division

11.     Public hearing on the application from G.B. New England 2, LLC for a special permit for a drive-through for property at 858-860 Dalton Avenue

12.     A response from the Community Development Board on a petition from Councilor Costi requesting a zoning amendment to eliminate the parking requirement for commercial uses in the Downtown Arts Overlay District

13.     A report of the Traffic Commission on a petition from Councilors Costi and Markham to set the speed limit on Springside Avenue to 30 MPH, recommending it be filed.

14.     A report of the Traffic Commission on a petition from Councilor Lothrop requesting a Commercial Trunk Ban on South Mountain Road, recommending the approval for a traffic study

15.     A report of the Traffic Commission Authorizing the Mayor and City Council President to enter into and execute an Agreement Regarding the Lease of Certain Municipal Parking Spaces, recommending it be approved with amended right of first refusal

16.     A report of the Traffic Commission on a Petition from Councilor Maffuccio for four-way Stop Signs along Linden Street, Columbus Avenue and Lakeway Drive recommending it be filed. 

17.     A report from the Traffic Commission on a petition from Councilor Lothrop for installation of four-way Stop Signs at the intersection of East Housatonic Street and Bartlett Avenue, recommending it be approved as amended

18.     A report from the Traffic Commission on a petition from Councilor Costi for various changes to the intersection of First Street and Maplewood Avenue, recommending it be filed

19.     A report from the Traffic Commission on a petition from Councilors Tyer and Ward for an investigation of possible traffic controls at the intersection of Williams Street and East New Lenox Road, recommending it be approved for a traffic study

20.     A report from the Traffic Commission on a petition from Councilor Tyer and Kerwood to evaluate neighborhood safety issues associated with allowing right turn on red at the intersection of East and Newell Streets, recommending it be filed.

21.     A report of the Committee on Community and Economic Development on an Order authorizing the City of Pittsfield to use $1,100,000 from the GE Economic Development fund for loans to the Downtown Cinema Center, recommending approval

22.     A report of the Committee on Community and Economic Development on an Order authorizing the Mayor to submit the Community and Economic Development Block Grant Consolidated Action Plan for the 2008-2009 Program Year, recommending approval

23.     A report of the Committee on Community and Economic Development on an Order authorizing the City of Pittsfield to use $350,000 from the GE Economic Development Fund for LTI Smart Glass Inc.

NEW BUSINESS

24.     A petition from Peter Arlos requesting the Council vote to ask the Pittsfield Economic Development Board to develop a program to attract corporations to Pittsfield that require water resources for doing business

25.     An ordinance amending the City Code, Chapter 23, Zoning to reclassify property located at the corner of West Housatonic Street and Hungerford Street, identified as Assessors Map D5, Block 3, Lots 110, 11 and 12 from R12 to BG
