Pittsfield Community Television

Here are some photos from this year's UCP Telethon Starfest '01.  Our crack staff of six plus over twenty volunteers started at 6am on Saturday, January 20 to set-up.  We covered a live Auction Preview for the Rotary on Saturday night.  Then we covered the Telethon on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 6pm.

Here are the images, if you want to help out next year please contact us.

In order to cover this telethon at the Berkshire Crowne Plaza, we must first pack up our entire facility.  This is the fun part. Before you can have camera & action, you need lights.  Here lighting assistant David Roy adjusts some of the lighting instruments.

Volunteer Rob Dumais prepares one of our cameras for the telethon. John Williams is the man that handles the audio at all of our big events.  In this picture he is in the middle of during a microphone check.
Pre-production is the most important aspect to a good shoot.  Here is a last minute run through of the script with crew and talent. Director Shawn Serre goes over the script one last time before the production begins.
Volunteer Gary Crippa is manning the portable camera as it gets a shot of the Grace Notes chorus from Miss Hall's School. This is a wide shot of the crew during the production.
Here is the directing crew.  From l. to r., Elizabeth Hollister-Tech. Director, Shawn Serre-Director, Chris Bennet-Production Asst. Dave Cachat mans the graphic machines for this live cablecast.  He also is looking ahead in the script for what is coming next.
Is it live or Memorex?  Here you see both the actual ballet dancers and what they look like on television. This is wide shot of the control room from the back.  Click on it for a larger image.
